My project started out as a investigation into possible apocalyptic events that could cause the extinction of humans. However, in the midst of this research, a global pandemic emerged. There was very little known about it, how it would spread, or how deadly it would be, but it fit the bill for an apocalyptic event, so I dove in. I ended up focusing on what we can do to defeat the virus, and which countries have been able to combat COVID-19 effectively. Diving into the specific steps they have taken to flatten the curve and why the science of COVID-19 cells make them a unique enemy.
PITCH (SAM) Cinematographer: Cinematographic Approach: For this film, we will use lots of steady cam for the scenes running through woods, and also low angle shots to get more of the north pole background visible and emphasize the physical + emotional urgency (i.e. kicking up snow). We will also use these shots for the fairies, to show their closeness to the environment. Whenever Danny Devito or Shia LeBoeuf enters the camera will immediately zoom in on their face to emphasize the legends that these actors are. Anyone with an immense amount of drip will also be zoomed in on to emphasize the underlying theme. During monologues, we will use over the shoulder shots & two shots to understand the emotion of the character that the monologue is directed at. The rude mechanicals will be filmed in a more casual way, with quick and shaky cuts to emphasize the hierarchical difference and how their play will be put on. When new normal characters enter (other than Danny Devito & Shia Lebouf) we will use medium shots to get a full view of them & show how whatever they are wearing interacts with the hierarchy theme of the play. |
